10th, 9th,now 7th. on the climb.

This week not as many trials were present as the car was just tight in hotlaps and loose in the heat race. We found out that the setup that is currently on the car is not exactly fast and we are having Billy Fulson, a highly respected figure around the Atlanta garage area to help us and set the car up after the July 2nd race, every car he sets up flies to the front. Zac Kittle another great driver around the southeast area says that he doesn't see how we are running this fast with the car setup the way it is. Zac made a few small adjustments to the rear springs and that helped a little in the feature race as we came from 11th to 7th and were knocking on the door to 6th place as we were all over the rear bumper of the #14 of Mark Swan. A much needed change is soon coming to the #23 car in the next couple of weeks in the form of the Billy Fulson setup and don't be suprised to see us in victory lane before the season is over, it is deffinently possible.

Thursday Thunder week 4 notes.

Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder Week Four Notes
Kids' Bike, Trike & Power Wheels Races Presented by Clover Ranch Communities
Monday, June 22, 2009
Atlanta Motor Speedway's fourth week of Thursday Thunder will include a special class of NASCAR's next stars, as young fans from the grandstands are invited to compete in the Kids' Bike, Trike and Power Wheels Races presented by Clover Ranch Communities on Thursday, June 25.
Sponsored by Clover Ranch Communities, the Kids' Bike, Trike and Power Wheels Races will hit the "Thunder Ring" as intermission entertainment during week four of Thursday Thunder. In addition to the activity for kids, Thursday Thunder will feature eight classes of Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster racing, heat races and promoter's choice events.
Kids' Bike, Trike and Power Wheels Races
Adding to the short-track racing excitement of Thursday Thunder, children are invited to bring their favorite bicycle, tricycle or Power Wheels for the Kids' Bike, Trike and Power Wheels Races presented by Clover Ranch Communities on Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring". The Kids' Bike, Trike and Power Wheels Races will be divided into two age groups and will compete on either the "Thunder Ring" or on the Speedway's frontstetch (depending on age group). This fun opportunity should be the first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway for many of NASCAR's stars of tomorrow.
Twice the Fun, Not Quite Twice the Points Advantage
Through three weeks of Thursday Thunder racing, five competitors have managed a pair of wins in their respective classes. However, only one of these competitors has accumulated a double-digit points lead, an indication of the competitive racing on Atlanta Motor Speedway's "Thunder Ring".
The competitors who have won two races in 2009 are Luke Benhke of Fayetteville (J.J. Morley Outlaws), Chris Cable of Griffin (Thunder Roadsters), Cody Haskins of Marietta (Semi-Pro), Jeff Haynie of Zebulon (Masters) and Matt Linker of Mt. Pleasant, N.C. (Young Guns).
Only Linker holds a double-digit lead, sitting 12 points ahead of his nearest Young Guns rival. Cable, a first-year standout in the Thunder Roadsters class, holds the slimmest lead - just three points - while Haskins holds a six-point Semi-Pro advantage and Benhke is ahead by nine points among the J.J. Morley Outlaws.
Despite posting two early-season wins, Haynie sits in second in the Masters standings. Haynie trails Rick Geddes by just two points, evidence highlighting Geddes' consistent finishes. In addition to Geddes holding the lead over Haynie, five Masters competitors are lumped within 25 points of one another, making for one of the most-entertaining early-season points races of any division.
Fireworks
Independence Day weekend is approaching in just two weeks and Atlanta Motor Speedway is eager to celebrate America's independence with fireworks at both Thursday Thunder and Friday Night Drags. Fans attending the July 2 edition of Thursday Thunder and the July 3 date of Friday Night Drags will be treated to one of the largest and best fireworks shows on Atlanta's south side.
Featuring a full slate of short-track racing, Thursday Thunder is an affordably-priced activity that offers something for spectators of all ages. Tickets are just $5 for adults and $1 for children 6-11 (ages 5 and under are free) for each evening of family fun and grass-roots racing. Gates open at 6 p.m., heat races start at 6:15 p.m. and feature races start at approximately 7:50 p.m. For more information about Thursday Thunder, contact the Atlanta Motor Speedway ticket office at (770) 946-4211 or visit www.atlantamotorspeedway.com.

Another rough week. Another comeback.

Carrying momentum from June 11th JWM took to the track once again on June 18th but not without a heavy price to pay before hand, a sudden forcing of a rule change nearly sent the team home but after some debating and agreement the problem was solved and after a second week of problems that involved track officials the 23 was back on track. The first feature was in heat of day which made the track very slick seeing that the heat index that day was 105 degrees. The 23 car was very loose, sideways out of every turn, but managed to come out of the first feature with a 9th place finish after a caution free race. The second feature was in the cool of night which means more grip and a faster car. Teammate and fellow racer of the 77 car in Semi-pro PJ Alexander made an adjustment call which was believed to have improved the cars handling. After an intense battle between the 83 of Tyler Armstrong and the 72 of Robbie Woodhall JWM came out with a 9th place finish in the second feature as well. A decent week but a nessecary comeback for the 23 and JW Motorsports.

More trials to week 1 of Thursday Thunder but a good ending .

First of all the day was hectic. Hot laps went fine, it was when the heat races rolled around that the trials came. Sitting on the grid we got left behind after a miscommunication of information between track officials and once they noticed me they waved me out on the track then theclutch broke in the car, the clutch breaking set the night up for a fight. After help from another race team with welding, the clutch was fixed in time for the autograph session which led straight into the feature race. We had to start in the very back due to not making the heat. The feature was decent, I was fast but not quite fast enough as I was catching them heading into the turns but they were beating me on exit. After working through 2 wrecks and a couple of cautions we worked our way from 17th to 10th out of 19 cars in a 20 lap feature, not a bad start to Thursday Thunder 2009. We need to keep racking up top 10's and top 5's and consistency will keep us in the top of the points fight. Race 2 was good, next week is expected to be even better. This next week on thursday will be double the feature races which means double the action which in turn means that this will be the race you'll want to see. Tickets for adults are $5.00, kids 6 to 12 are $1.00 and kids 6 and under are free. Come and check out Legends, Bandolero and Thunder Roadster cars in Thursday Thunder 2009.

Thursday Thunder 2009. The black chapter.

The 3rd Thursday Thunder chapter for JWM is getting set to unfold as the countdown is at 2 days. 2007 was a year of beginnings for JWM as a Bandolero race car team and was full of ups and downs...more downs than ups. 2008 started off a little nerve racking with the transition to Legends cars but proved to be a little easier on the mind toward the middle to end of the season. 2009 is set to be a totally different story seeing as this is the first repeat season in the same type of car since go karts; Meaning that this will be 2 seasons in the same car. The 2009 Thursday Thunder for JWM will be a trying one due to a new transition to the Semi-Pro class which is notorious for rough and competitive racing. Atlanta Motor Speedway is setting the 2009 drivers line-up in each class by age, so this means that some drivers that were in semi-pro last year are being moved down to the newly named "young lions" division which was known as the chargers division, and drivers that were in the young lions are being moved to semi-pro. The changes at hand mean that some drives may not have been ready for this sudden transition to semi-pro therefore making for some good yet potentially scary racing. This is a challenged needed for JWM and will help this team to grow in experience and strength none the less, One word to kind od set the feel for this year is..."Will", the will to put yourself in a position to win is key and that's exactly what will happen this season more so than any other as Thursday Thunder gets ready to take the green flag for the 2009 season.
